Location: Bolton, UK | Some local guy selling the above for £135 says it has a few laquer cracks and a Takamine pickup do you think this is this a good buy guys. I never plug my celebrity in and fancy a twelve string. Any advice appreciated. |

Location: Scotland | If it has an aluminum fingerboard leave it alone, they wore out plenty fast enough with six strings, 12 would really tear 'em up. I'll need to check but I'm pretty sure that as the 12 string versions were pretty late in production they may have regular re-frettable rosewood fingerboards. In which case, if the rest of the guitar is sound £135 for a USA-made Ovation 12-string is OK, given that the Matrix was intended as an entry-level instrument. |

Location: Scotland | The Matrix was made from '76-ish till the early 80's when it became the Balladeer Special, then the Ultra. I thought I had some info on the Matrix 12, but it turned out it was just the 6 strings. You'll need to get a look at it to see if it has a regular fingerboard or not. |
