Last week we had a very fun family band jam along with a professional violinist. Fun for all, especially me.
Except that I was forced to stand playing the daughter's 1778T-RF. My build is (nearly) slim, yet the roundback still caused problems with the guitar turning skyward. After a while it was frustrating.
So that narrows down the search for my own guitar to one of the contour backs.
So for the several hundred dollars of difference between the Adamas and the O, how much difference is there? THis will be the last guitar in my lifetime, barring a Powerball jackpot, so I want it to be good enough, yet not unnecessarily expensive. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Buy the 2080. The elite is nice but the difference in price is $700 at list. Probably $550 or so retail. For that money I think you'd regret not getting the adamas. The abalone bling of the elite might sway my eyes, but hands down for unplugged sound the 2080 is better in my opinion. You could always make the 2080 sound like the elite by stuffing a sock inside it. Dave |

Location: Chehalis, Washington | You should see my 2-year old loving on my Adamas II - she just gets a tickle out of sitting in my lap playing (she thinks) guitar with Daddy...
I'll have to take some pics.
Personal thought - if you like the bling, go with the 2078. If you want the best road guitar you can get, pick up the 2080. Can't beat the Adamas durability, not to mention the sound. |
