This is one instrument I would really like to own. I'd love to throw a bid at this and just see what happens.

Very Nice Ukulele

Go ahead Dave.. Have at it.
On one hand you would have one old (but very nice) uke. On the other hand you could have maybe 9 new Adamas guitars.
Life is full of tough choices.

Wow, that's a gorgeous uke, Dave. Probably wouldn't be that much more to send it over to the Mothership and have them drop a suitable back on it either. Then a small cut for a preamp and you'd be all set. Probably the last one you'd ever have a need to buy.

You should never "throw" that much moolah, Dave. You need to carry it carfully to where it's going and gently lay it down.

That is one beautiful uke, though. I love the patina of old instruments.

Unfortunately I promised my wife I would never spend more than $15k on a ukulele. Oh well ...

Wasn't that Buckwheats little sister or cousin?

Patina is controlled corrosion for the sake of preservation. It's what you want to happen so that worse things don't!

DAVE.....that's not a problem. 15K for the uke and then an additional 5K for the matching case.

Gotta have both to retain ultimate value!

Same as when people say the slothead is the Holy Grail of adamas. Means that the pyramid only has one peak and this instrument is it. Dave

Items like that had a lot of hands on time.

Dave, et al, please enlighten me. From Time to time you will see a Breedlove proto or one of a kind show up. Ususlly in a Koa or with special materials or inly like this Ukelele. They are often crafted by Kim Breedlove himself and satisfy his need to create something wonderful.

Is this Uke an example of that happening from the Martin factory back then? Something rarely made and perhaps a little indulgent but cherished 80-90 years later?
