There is a 'wooden roundback guitar' making the rounds of the membership here as part of a 'friendship tour. Others could speak with more authority on the subject, but if it's a wooden roundback it's not an Ovation. Any links?

Not to be confused with Ovations. One of our Members, Jeff W, has sent one of those on a journey between OFC Members and it is lovingly referred to as "The Wooden Roundback". If any one of us saw it listed on Ebay we would form a posse and bring a rope... Well, if it was on the Left Coast. On the east coast they'd pile into a large Caddy with shovels in the trunk.

The back was made up of bent wooden staves (like a barrel) with abalone in-between. Was actually pretty cool. It had an Applause-shaped headstock, too. I remember that the guy who built it was on the Board here a coupla' times, and said the he decided to just "let it go", and it went to some local music store . . . I'll see if I can find the picture somewhere . . .
