I just buy a celebrity CS257 on the bay, and I'm very happy about this guitar. A couple of week before, I was looking for a 2078 LX, but.... at this time, I had some expenses that were not expected. So, I went for a Korean one.... I was surprised to see that they are very well done. I know, they are not made in USA, and I had the feeling that there is two level in Ovation, but now, even if they are cheaper than the other, I'm happy with my new one. The hand are doing the good music....And for my musical level, It's enought...
I think that Chet Atkins, or musicians like him, will do miracles on a ''paper board guitar''

I bought my daughter a CS 247 for Christmas last year. It is one of the prettiest guitars out there, sounds decent, has a good preamp and tuner and the construction and detail is very good. The only negative I have about it is that she likes it so much, she doesn't want another guitar for Christmas this year.

As long as you're happy with your guitar, that's all that matters. In my not_so_distant past, I used to have a Chinese-made Applause AE48 that I played along with my 1861. Plywood top or not, it's still a decent sounding instrument IMO. The only thing that I didn't like about it was the bare bones electronics that came along with it. Unfortunately, the neck broke after one of my students accidentally slammed onto it. I have parted with it since because of it...

p.s.
-- Montreal is a beautiful city. I made numerous trips up north to your city, when I was an undergrad at Plattsburgh State. I used to have friends who attended McGill Univ., and we used to spend Friday nights overlooking the lights in the city on top of the Gardner Hall, while drinking lotsa brewskies!!

I've got the CP 247 - it's fantastic. It was a nice price too. I could never have afforded an American-made model.

Hey! Be nice! You will hurt 4861's feelings.(Korea)
Since I don't know any better (yet) I am satisfied.
I can type this, cuz my guitar is in it's box and can't read this.
