Do all the guitar makers buy from one common source. Do the current tops like on the 2080 have birch ply in the center? Steve

It was interesting to read about how short the supply of it is and made me wonder if it affected Ovation at all. http://www.fibreglast.com/showproducts-category-Reinforcements-12.h...

I was getting some pickups put in my acoustic doubleneck and the shop, who makes guitars, says that graphite tops are about $500 to someone like him who would only buy one or two. Steve

Actually, that's what the coating on the Elite T reminds me of - like someone sprayed truck bedliner material all over a guitar.

The "T" is the texture that "laying it up" with fabric between it and the "die" (there is another word for it but I can't remember now) causes. The 1680, 2080, and some of the export Adamas' have what is called "NWT", which I believe is the same material as the CVT's, accept there's no finish to speak ofon the top. Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong.
