Location: Canada | I had my first gig with my Glen Campbell 12 today. An afternoon spot at a local record store - I opened for the band I play bass in with an acoustic solo spot; one of my originals and a bunch of covers.
I used a Soundchecker stick-on soundboard transducer and ran it through my Fender Passport PA.
I got some nice compliments on the sound. I think next time I might experiment a little on where to attach the pickup though - it was a little boomy to my ears.
Nothing beats sticking a microphone in front of the soundhole too. Maybe a combination of the two would be the best...
Anyway, my first gig with my first Ovation; That warrants its own post, right? |

Location: GA USA | Good going, Osterizer. Post some pics of the blessed event. We like looking at pics of Ovations, and of people playing Ovations. Or just call Phil Wong. He'll come over and snap a few(hundred). |

I tried to find an old Glen Campbell LP while I was there but the only one they had was one of his Mosrite-era records. ;)
(Not a knock on Mosrite by the way...)
PS Jason, thanks for the tip about the brace spot for the pickup. I'll try that next. I had it on the lower side of the soundboard and caught a little too much bassy hollowness.
PPS Pictures were taken & will be posted! |
