I've seen from the specks that my 1619-4 has a v-shaped neck. Guess that means it tapers towards the headstock. I've also seen a guitar's neck described as a d- and v-shape. Is there a whole bunch of letters describing neck shapes?

It attempts to describe how it feels in your left hand as you are playing. A V shape has a soft but pronounced ridge running down the center of the back of the neck. A C is much rounder, a D shape would typically be flatter.

Like the Balladeers have "C" necks, and Legend/Elite have more narrow "D" necks?
So, any pattern or model designation for "V" necks?

My CL12 has the D neck. I find that when I play chords for a while, my hand cramps up more on that guitar. I think the flat profile causes me to use the muscles in my palm more. I prefer the profiles on my Adamas II, Balladeer or Viper. I think the Balladeer has the V neck.
May have to trade my CL12 for an LX12 in the future.

My Country Artist - wideneck - D profile.
My (!) Ute - wideneck - Big Fat C profile.

As I recall JW's Folklore is also a slim D like the CA. I think they decide on a model by model basis - there doesn't seem to be a rule.

My preference is for the originasl V on my Custom Legend, then the D then the C. The ute is also too fat and I don't like the satin finish on the neck. So how come it's the best of the best?

If you don't like the Ute, why don't you sell it? I'm sure you could get back every penny you paid for it.

Schroed, sell it to me. I'll pay you twice what you paid for it plus the shipping.

I actually haven't shaved for about ten years, do give the beard a trim every now and then. But I do have shaved 60 sheep the last few days, and that is all over the body!
On the neck profile subject I guess its not the letters but the feeling of the neck that matters. I don't find my 1619-4 neck very much v-shaped, but my other guitars do have a little more rounded backs.
