He used it until about 1986 and then started using another Elite that was vitually identical except it had the standard Elite fretboard markers (it could have been the prototype with a new fretboard -- I don't know). The original two prototypes had fretboard markers based on a necklace owned by Bill's wife. Jason, you should remember it --- Bill brought the guitar to the party in New Jersey in September.

I'm not even sure this is a deep bowl on this videoclip. Remember that SSB 1537 prototype that was talked about here sometime ago? It sort of reminded me of that.

Interestingly, I'd say his siginature models would NOT be among his more prized guitars. For the most part, Glen only used his siginature six-string and 12-string during the run of his Goodtime Hour TV series (1969-1972). Since the mid-70s, he's favored the multi-soundhole Adamas and Elite style models. What was Glen's most favored Ovation? Steve He has a mid-80s Custom Legend that seems to be a favorite of his. I've never seen him use it on stage, but anytime he's interviewed at his home, it's right there on his knee or prominently displayed in the background. His favorite stage Ovation for the better part of ten years now has been a natural finish Viper.
