It doesn't really snow in Portland. Two inches, they close the schools, and it's gone tomorrow.
Everyone thinks I'm nuts, cuz I pray for snow.
I'd rather have it be 29 and snowing, than 34 and raining!
You can brush snow off, rain sinks in.
Snow is pretty! Mud is just mud.

Mauna Kea ("White Mountain") overlooking Hilo Bay. 87 degrees at the shoreline and about 27 degrees on the summit. Mauna Kea is the world's highest summit measured from its base to its top.

Ah, the Big Island, that's a beautiful picture. I loved my time last year on the Big Island, you're in a beautiful place. I spent a few weeks on Ohau, and felt like I was stuck in a constant traffic jam. No offense Tim. I did enjoy the span with breakfast at Mcdonalds though.

yup, tommy, life is pretty good here. i prefer the island of kaua'i though, where i lived before relocating to the big island in 2003. local families cannot afford to live on kaua'i anymore and the big island's cost of living is catching up. i blame it on oprah and donald trump for announcing that there are still land bargains on the big island. wealthy mainlanders are coming here in droves and the cost of real estate and rentals has gone up 4 fold in the past three years.

Lanaki,

Had the ship over to Kona on Tuesday morning to work the Coast Guard mooring buoy. Pride of America was there about the same time. Beautiful weather your having over there, it's been really windy on Oahu.

Yes Tommy, the constant traffic jams drive's me nuts. I lived in LA and didn't have the traffic problems that Honolulu has seven days a week! Maui's starting to have the same problems too...too many cars on to few roads :(

"local families cannot afford to live on kaua'i anymore"

My Nana (grandma) lived in Honululu(?) HI. She said Kaua'i was the most beautiful place, hidden away from the tourists. Farms, flowers, and pigs. (She was a country girl, back when Connecticut was country.) Once the tourists find a place...

Aloha_Tim,

big island (especially hilo)is usually the one under some sort of weather advisory so it has been pleasant for several days in a row this week. we have 12 different climatological zones on this island so somethin's usually going on. woke up this morning to a volcanic earthquake but nothing close to october's 6.7

Let me guess:

Glacial
Tundra
Rainforest
Tropical
Mountain-Marine
Rainshadow Desert
Something
Something
Tourist
Semi-Volcanic
Volcanic
Lava moving in your living room!

I have been to Maui as a Tourist and would love to bring my Wife out for a delayed Honeymoon. The sunset had more colors than the Crayola Big-Box!

Hey Mark.....34" here at my house with an additional light dusting of an inch or two on Christmas eve.

Love to get together again....specially if we can get Sally to attend!!!! You got a current phone number?

A few others in the area now (again) so it would be fun.

Now...4 fingers are basically working at about 90% with the pinkie finger moving up to about 70%. Slow irritating process but at least there is some progress.

Hope everyone had a merry chirstmas!

Hi mark. Found some on the bay but never jumped on them. Bought a loop instead. T28 is always up for a jam, and Sally has disappeared.
