Location: Vancouver, Canada | I am trying to value my guitars for insurance purposes. I have a 1973 (s/n 009318) Model 1115-4 Ovation 12 string, very good-excellent condition, one finish crack below bridge, small dings on top of peghead. I own mostly Guilds, famous for their 12s, but this Ovation beats the beejesus out of any other 12 I have ever picked up, and I would want to replace it if lost/stolen/broken/etc. Can anyone help me with current market prices?
Thanks,
John Kidder |

Location: RI. That small State out East | John, I shopped for 12 strings hard on ebay for about 3 weeks. My "guess" based on what was being sold is about $300.00 to $500.00. You might want to search the completed sales under Ovation to see what has been sold and what people paid...
If you take it to a local "guitar store" they will give you half of what they think the could sell it for. IE ($175.00)

Location: Soldotna, Alaska | Check out www.gruhn.com for an appraisal. You can get one on-line or by mail for a small fee. I think you have to send a picture of the front and back and a detailed dicsription. Anyway, you can check out the site for details.,,,,,,,,,,Harlan |
