It was for the replacement for Rosie O'Donnel and it had Neil Diamond singing on it. UNFORTUNATELY he was playing a Taylor and NOT an OVATION what a missed opportunity for Ovation is all I can think. Did Neil now swtich to Taylor? I never remember him with any other guitar than an ovation

Sadly enough, it seems the only way Ovation's gonna get any public recognition is gonna be to sponsor a friggin' NASCAR racer!

Or..better yet...Ovation should've given David Blaine one to play while he's standing up on that stupid pole over here in NYC...and then see who survives the fall!!

In the last 10 years or so when I've seen him on tv, Diamond's been playing what looked like a jumbo size black guitar. I don't know the brand. Like a lot of people, he may have made the jump to Taylor. For better or for worse. But he hasn't played Ovations for a long time.

....if only O.J. had used a guitar!....

(then again, that would just mean yet ANOTHER LimitedEditionCelebrityModel - "The O.J. Simpson Signature Series" - comes with one (supposed) ill-fitting glove.)

I think Neil has been playing an Everly brothers model. He had one in the beginning and went back to it around the time of the Jazz singer.

What's wrong with NASCAR?? that would be great advertisement. Of course getting a meaningful endorsement would be tricky, not to mention the $$$$$$$ it would cost. Then again, lots of manufacturers have done that.

Maybe KMC needs to go after something that's not been done before? A fresh approach?

I saw an advertisement where you can get a free car to use but it is wrapped with an advertisement sort of like the way they do he buses in NYC.
If they each gave us a car or van wrapped with the Ovation logo and all we had to do was drive it around.....

Sorry cwk2, no slam against NASCAR intended - an example of a marketing success, and yes even minor sponsorship on a car would be $$.
As one who tried to knock down a few walls in his youth (midgets and stocks), and still follows most forms of the sport' I do have a problem with them calling carbureted rear wheel drive cars "stock". Nashville Speedway does give away Gibsons (can I use that word here?) away as "Trophies" for some events. Once again, no offense intended - the "passion" and knowledge of this list helped me decide my purchase of one (and yes, can see already that one is not enough..)

No offence taken

A perfect Sunday, 8:00 tee time, home by noon, a sandwich and watch the race while picking guitar.
