As a "newbee" to the posts, I'm almost afraid to ask this question...I have a perfect 1976 Patriot, #0646 purchased by me new in Hawaii in (of course) 1976. I hapened to work in a Music store when the Island recieved 2. It was love at first sight and sound. I continued to use it in various bands for a couple years. I ended up falling out of the music business and have stored the instrument (playing it occasionally) for the last 24 years. I've been looking for any information on the collectability of the thing, and have yet to find a store that has a clue when they look at it. Additionally I have not found another one for sale. I have the origional notorized factory certificate of authenticity signed by Mr. Bernarda, naming me as the owner on permanent file with Ovation. Should I keep this instrument for other than sentimental reasons? Are they plentiful? I'm sure the post has covered this topic many times before...but I'm a new guy, yake it easy on me! Thanks, Brent

If I were you, I'd keep your guitar as it is a good instrument. Every couple of months one comes up for sale on ebay. I don't remember how much they go for, but probably in the $400 to $600 range.

Brent, Just curious, what did the Patriot go for new, and obviously if you worked at the store you got a discount, how much did you pay for it back then?
