I recently took a tour through some of the local music stores, and in one I thought I saw an Ovation hanging in the back. When I got closer I could see a round composite back but the peghead was wrong. Up close it said something like "Schecter or Schmecter" or something like that (I really don't remember since it wasn't an Ovation). Anyway what's the deal on these, did they copy/steal the design from Ovation? Just curious

I think they say "Sphincter"!

Al could probably tell you about it. If I recall correctly, he had a faux ovation for sale on his link page. Perhaps it's the same knock-off!
