Location: SoCal | I was in a Guitar Center last night and noted that a number of the new models had the OP40 electronics. But the new Elite T (still waiting for Ovation to say what the T stands for) has the OP30 (per the specs that Miles was given by Ovation and posted). Does anybody know what the difference is? |

(Theres an OP20 too that will be in all Celebrity models. Though cheaper, it still has the same chromatic tuner as the OP-30 and 40)
HERE's WHAT THEY SAY (roughly translated):
• The OP30 Preamp
The OP30 is identically constructed with the OP20, however with additional Mid SHIFT switch.
• More actively 3 tape EQ
• EQ Pre Shape switch for
• optimal basic sound
• EQ status switch for bypass function
• Mid SHIFT switch for changes between
• 400 cycles per second and 1 kHz of the center frequency
• inserted auto+chromatic
• Being correct device
• Battery status LED
--------------------------
• The OP40 Preamp
The OP40 Preamp is identically constructed with the OP30 Preamp, however with additional Notchfilter "anti feedback" system.
• More actively 3 tape EQ
• EQ Pre Shape switch for
• optimal basic sound
• EQ status switch for bypass function
• Mid SHIFT switch for changes between
• 400 cycles per second and 1 kHz of the center frequency
• inserted auto+chromatic
• Being correct device
• Notchfilter "anti feedback" system
• Battery status LED
---------------------------
So basically, the only difference between the OP-30 and the 40 is the Notchfilter anti-feedback thing.

Location: Scotland | Can I have a "Being Correct Device" fitted to my guitars. Might save embarrasment when the band kicks off a tune in A, and I sail into it in E, which happened last night. Oops!

Location: Pennsylvania | Yeah, those "Being Correct Devices" sure seem spiffy! Sadly, I only think they're available
when you badly translate German to English. ;)
