I recently purchased a model 1617. I plugged it in but it was almost no sound. I understand that there should be a battery in there somewhere but I have no clue. Can someone give me some help? Thanks in advance.

My 1627 has a battery holder mounted inside the body on the bass side. It uses a special screw that, when turned a half-turn, releases the bracket (the screw is on the outside of the case). Since mine is 'vintage', yours may be a bit different....just feel inside the soundhole...good luck!
