I've seen this model advertised in many, many places so I suspect that "limited" is a very relative term and may not really be all that few. But I actually did get to play one in a shop locally and I was pretty impressed at both the sound and the quality of the fit and finish, especially for the price. I think you will enjoy your guitar very much. Dave

If you find out any more information let me know too. I just bought a 2002 limited edition at a going out of business sale and can't find any info on it used or new.
I like it so far but it came with medium strings and a high action. It hurts compared to my 25 year old custom balladeer with lights and a very low action.
