Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | Is this possible, or feasible? I have collected some preamps over the years, and was wondering who repairs them, and whether the cost is prohibitive, in lieu of replacement. THANKS!! |

Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | I am reluctant to answer my own item, but I don't want the item buried by lack of response, either. Somebody out there knows more than I do (boy, is that an understatement!!). Any input would be appreciated. THANKS!! |

Location: Scotland | The early pre's are real simple, I've repaired several myself & my electronics skills are rudimentary at best. The newer pre's are a little more complex & I haven't & wouldn't attempt a repair myself. Having said that I have yet to come across a broken one. If you have a schematic & a good technician repairs should not be a problem.

Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | Al, you're probably right, but like I've said before, "more guts than brains..." So, Paul, do you know of anyplace I can get a schematic? Thanks again! |

Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | Thanks Paul, I did. Three weeks ago. No response yet. That's why I was asking about other sources. Oh well, the preamps are not immediately needed, so I will persevere. Thanks! |

For what it's worth, I've allways been amazed by the service I've gotten from Ovation over the years. With problems ranging from; Needing new saddles; Tracing a serial number; buying a stereo pickup & preamp (no longer made); warranty repairs above and beyond the call,(like replacing the top due to an imperfection, and resetting the neck angle to my liking, on a '94 collectors ed.). And much more!
IMHO; Ovation is second to NONE when it comes to "Service after the sale". They've allways treated me like I MATTERED when I call them, (regardless of how 'unusual' my needs might be :) )
Granted; it has been about a year since I called them; But unless my heroes have been possessed by the 'Pod People', I'm gonna GUESS that E-Mail, or Snail mail, might be the reason for their lack of response{?}
If so; try their 800 number, I don't think you'll be disappointed. (If you already have; Then maybe we ALL oughta call and remind 'em WHO pays the bills!)
Best of luck! |
