Has anyone fabricated or experimented with the standard bridge shims? Would there be any benefit to changing the taper or using one solid shim instead of two?

Jim
ps I mistakenly posted this over in the 'for sale' forum, I'm in trouble now

do a search on bridge shims I am positive some one fashioned one out of wood to make a more "solid" connection between the pickup and body, I am not so sure if it would make that significant of a difference

Yes, By all means fabricate a solid shim to adjust the string action. Several folks do just that. No "HUGE" benefit, but worth the time.

I have whittled a few of them out of popcicle sticks - no kidding. Lots of trial and error involved. Dave

PS - And while I'm a whittlin' away, momma plays the jug and sister/daughter/2nd wife plays the spoons.
