There were some extensive discussions of these type of guitars a while back. Maybe a search using the words "trekker", "travel", etc. might bring them up.

Z: I have a CS212 which I bought for my kids to bang around on ... small hands and arms and all that. It has Adamas/Elite style soundholes and a mid-depth bowl. I don't care much for the sound ... rather thin compared to my full size Ovations, but that said, probably a much better sound than most other guitars in the price range and certainly MUCH better than other small scale guitars out there -- the Martin Backpacker is a sonic joke comparatively. With the preamp, we have gotten some pretty good results when plugged in. And aside from the dreaded lacquer crack (the only Ovation I own that's developed one), it has been virtually indestructable. I think I paid about $300 for it and was a great investment considering its intended use.

I wouldn't consider one as my mainstay ... find a good solid used USA model for the same money. But if you want something for easier travel, smaller hands, etc., I give it two thumbs up.

Want to add that I've had it about three or so years now.
