I just bought a Ovation Solid Body Electric guitar monday at Guitar Center in Virginia.. I have no idea what kind of Ovation it is, all i got from the salesman was that it was a U2, and they said it was probably made in late 70's or early 80's. The model number is E 14813, and its an electric. It came with the case which is definatley old. It has a real nice tone i just cant get any info on it and i figure someone here would know. Either its a U2 or and Ultra something..... It has 2 sqaure pickups that has a switch above both of them that can change it from a single coil to a humbucker. Its nice... could anyone give me some info on this please. Thanks.

If it's stock, then the switchews are for series and parallel. IF the pickups have "rails" instead of the more common magnets, it's a UKII. It should also have gold hardware, and be an archtop. Two volume and tone controls, and either a stereo/mono jack on the heel or a jack on the pickguard with a switch for stereo or mono operation.
