I have been watching ovations on ebay for 2 months trying to figure out which one I wanted. I finally won an Elite 1778. I got it for $681 I hope that I didn't pay too much for it. I understand that you can buy it new for around $1050. The seller says that is is a 2002 model and that the guitar in the photos are of the actual guitar. Check out the link and let me know what you think. Fair deal or not? Here is the like to the auction.
Item number 934425829
Thanks, Tim

Tim;
I bought a 1778 new just a few months ago and paid $1070 for it. I love it, it sounds great and plays like a dream. Sounds like you got a great deal to me. It pays to be patient huh? Let us know how you like it once it arrives.

Tim,
Looks like you got a great deal. This is very nice guitar. The only thing I would question are the photos. If these are photos of the actual guitar, this guy has some damn good photography skills. Who knows, maybe he is a professional photographer or something. Good luck with the guitar - I'm sure you will love it.

This guy runs (IMHO) the same pics over and over. Doesn't make any difference as long as the guitar is in good shape when it gets to you.

You got a great deal on a terrific guitar. Congrats.

I asked the seller before bidding if the guitar in the photos is the actuall one for sale and he said yes it was and is in mint condition. I hope that turns out to be the case. I'll just have to wait and see. I payed today and will be watching my door for the delivery man.

I bought one from this guy last year. When it arrived it said Ibanez on the top with the word "USED" stamped on the back. I played it for a while but the lower side of the bridge kept coming up. After a lot of Elmer's and some JB Weld it finally stuck. I fixed the bowl crack on the back of the guitar with duct tape and dried grits.
I'm only kidding of course! I have a friend that bought a guitar from this guy and it was as described.
Enjoy!

The elite 1778 arrived the other day and I love it. It is in perfect shape. It still has the plastic protective sheeting on the tuners. I'll post photo of it when I get a chance. Tim
