Location: Lafayette, Louisiana | Hello everyone. Lately I have been playing alot more, and for the first time am having some wrist problems. Seems that when I play certain chords like a B minor, I get a sharp pain in my wrist. This pain is right below my palm where my wrist connects. It started last week, and it seems almost like I can feel a clicking in my wrist sometimes. I have been playing over 20 years, and this is the first time I have had this. I am kinda worried about it. Anyone else have something like this? Thanks...Paul Hebert |

Location: San Bernardino, California | Carpel tunnel is usually accompanied by tingling in the palm and/or fingers (usually one or two at first). I've got the same kind of pain in both hands. The doctor thinks it's a combination of carpel tunnel, arthritis & repetitive motion sydrome. My suggestion is take a break for a few days and see if things get better. The doctor also told me that not enough fluid intake can aggrevate the joints. If the problem doesn't IMPROVE with a few days rest see the doctor. There are drugs/therapies that can help. Do NOT agree to any surgery that involves the cutting of tendons (you can loose up to 60% of the use of your hands). Please don't be alarmed by all this, but it can get real bad if not taken care of. |

Location: ma. | sounds like carpal tunnel. i'd get it checked out,it would only get worse if you don't. or you could start lookin' for a lefty, seriously, if you play alot you don't wanna end up with permanent problems. |

Location: San Bernardino, California | Had another though. The position that I have my thumb while playing affects this, check to see if you're holding your hand differently. |

Location: Dallas | I have many joint & tendonitis isses. My wrists, knees & ankles pop like an an economy sized roll of BlackCat firecrackers. I've had to do some phys. therapy & I take Vioxx every day. It helps a lot. I've heard that Celebrex does good too. You might also look into an over the counter glucosamine/condroitin medication. Just say NO to surgery.

| I have the problem with my right hand from finger picking. I do the exercises I learned from work. |
