Hello Everybody,
I am new to this board and to acoustic guitars in general. I recently acquired an Ovation 1983 Collectors Edition and really like it alot. I would like to know more about this guitar from anyone that has owned one or played one. Was the Collector Edition a limited model or special model? I think it has great tone and can only imagine what a deep bodied Ovation would sound like. Any information that you can provide me about this guitar would be most appreciated. It is a keeper for me and I want to provide it the best in care. Thanks to all and I am sure to have more questions later.
Bob

i have one too, and it is really pretty amazing for a shallow body. mine is missing the electronics, and probably sounds better acousticly without all that stuff in the small body cavity. to me the small body has it's good points, and for what i use mine for, which is practice sessions and acoustic beach parties, it is perfect. and even with the shallow body it still sounds better than guitars that cost twice what i paid for it.

the collectors edition guitars are really fine guitars and are often overlooked on e bay. i have an 82 and an 83, and hope to aquire more.

I like the necks on the 83s. They are round and slim. Instead of V or fat. The always sound good too..
