| I've recently acquired and Elite Standard model number 6778. First off, I must say, I love this guitar! This is my first Ovation and the nicest guitar I've ever owned. My question is, where can I find more info on this bad boy? I've checked Ovation's website and the fan club's website and can't seem to find any info whatsoever. Help!! Inquiring minds want to know. |

| That link had a lot of good info. Thanks!! I'm looking for specifics if that is possible, Year is was made, type of construction (i.e. wood type, solid top, etc.). I'm just wanting to find out all I can on my new baby. |

Location: ma. | click on reference(on left), then serial#, then click on 6 digit code, green arrow will give other #'s. solid spruce top i believe, no fret markers, one piece neck as opposed to five piece on older Elites. |

Location: Colorado USA | Hey Doodymus, nice guitar huh? have the same model, made around 1996 in Cadillac Green burst. I assume your's is a Standard (no fretboard inlays), and maple adamas hole overlay's. I have compared the sound to other Elite's, a Celebrity Deluxe, and a Balladeer, no competition! The sound is darker than the Balladeer and the instrument has a better feel with its rounded neck. Set the action moderately low (only one shim under the bridge saddle), and try custom light Daddario's or Elixer's (better), and play, play, play....this is one sweet guitar! |
