Hello Everyone,
I am "The Phantom." I was just informed by this message board administrator that a new feature was put in place because of me. New users must now use a REAL eMail address so the system can eMail them their password, allowing them to post. This is also going to make it a little more difficult for me to post my annoying diatribes and insultive unwanted messages, but that is life. If you would like to personally thank me for this inconvienience, and any of the previous inconvieniences such as interupting the service, and just being annoying, feel free to contact me anytime, day or night.

Dr. Elias G. Argyris
606 E Manoa Rd
Havertown, PA 19083-4112
(610)449-9457

If you can't reach me there I work at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, although I guess if I keep this up, I won't be there much longer either.

By the way, I was in Boston this week attending a medical conference at the lovely Hynes convention center. I checked out of the beautiful Sheriton this morning a little before 10am and won't be home for awhile, but as I know many of you are eager to thank me, feel free to leave a message on my answering machine.

Thanks and enjoy,
The Phantom

I hope everyone who has been disgusted by his posts calls to thank him, maybe several times. I know I thoroughly enjoy having my holidays and vacations interrupted to play babysitter to this child. It was different when I got paid for my expertise, but I left that career for a more stress-free life, to enjoy doing things that mean something to me. Not to deal with this sort of nonsence.

He sounds like an attention seeker, probably a serious sociopath, it'll piss him off even more if everyone just ignores this sad little man

For those of you that do not know Thomas Jefferson University is a teaching Hospital and is funded with YOUR tax dollars you may want to call them and let them know how their employees spend their time and YOUR hard earned dollars.
If this man actually teaches students I would NOT want to use their facilities for fear of substandard care.

Truly scary that this man is being entrusted or relied on for this important research, and we are paying for it.

THE ROLE OF CELL SURFACE HEPARAN SULFATE PROTEOGLYCANS (HSPGs) IN HIV-1 VIRAL ASSEMBLY AND HIV-1 TAT CELLULAR UPTAKE

and

WATER-SOLUBLE METALLOPORPHYRINS REPRESENT POTENT INHIBITORS OF HIV-1 REPLICATION

I hope myself, or anyone I know ever needs drugs derived from this mans research.

When my kids were under 10 years old, they would throw tanturms occassionally. Mostly we just put them in their rooms and ignored them. I, for one, won't waste the cost of a long distance call. It's just not worth it. I find that I agree with Paul T (not a surprise to me as I usually do) and am not going to respond to Elias. My kids have grown, maybe he will as well.

This person is well educated and articulate. However I have serious doubts as to the claim of his identity. I would venture that he is setting us up to target someone of his choosing. I may be wrong....but...this maggot could only be a stinkstar loser who only wishes to occupy the position he claims. Anyone can be traced.

Based on the responses, it seems that as a result of our fast action most of the membership is unaware of certain incidents of spamming that have occured from this prior member of the FanCLub. I believe "The Phantom" was just trying in a subtle way to let this individual know that anytime he posts to this board, even from another city, with a bogus address, he can be found, in a matter of moments, right to the hotel room he was staying in. He probably doesn't even realize today, that by interrupting the service he committed a federal crime. As stated in the disclaimer, the administrators of this board will prosecute any abusers of this site to the fullest extent of the law.

The constant intrusion on our community from this individual stops now.

I apoligize to those in the community who were were not aware of a problem we have been dealing with for quite some time, and possibly were made to feel uncomfortable. Just trying to clean up the neighborhood as it were.

The Phantom posted sarcastically but accurately the correct information on the abuser of this system, and I thank him for it.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming :)

despite the fact that this guy has alienated most of us by his irrational behavior, i can't help feeling pity for someone obviously is in need of psychiatric help and probably doesn't have friends or family willing to help him find it. he must lead a terribly lonely life if he trys to validate his exhistance in such a non productive fashion.

seek help elias. we are all friends here and you have done little else but strengthen our common bond. if you don't like ovation guitars i hope you find something that brings you the joy and friendship we share here and that you you seem to lack in your life.

I not sure what else can be said about this whole business. I thought the original post bogus.
But I really appreciate this board and the administrators time and effort to maintain it. I find myself checking in everyday and learn things about music and guitars in general and solidified my appreciation of Ovation instruments.
Thanks again.

I would like to add to what Miles said. Without getting into detail. There has been a long standing negative history with myself and Elias. I really have no clue why he reacts in the way he does. I have checked and have some old e mails that go back as far as 1999, well the ones that I have saved anyway.

I have put his negative energy past me long ago, but for some reason he continues to target me, my business, my customers, the Ovation Fan Club and defame my reputation. The actions of this individual have lasted way too long and will no longer be tolerated.

It is with much regret that I even have to make this post. I will not make public the interactions between myself and he, but I will state that crashing the server, spamming OFC members, identity theft, and various other tactics should and illicit zero tolerance.

Please note I hesitate in using the term "disgruntled customer" to describe him since the individual has NEVER purchased one item from me, yet he continues to attack, harass and tell potential customers not to buy from me.

I do not know the answer at this point, nor can I guarantee you that it will end anytime in the near or distant future. I just wanted to make those of you that have not been around for long, aware of the ongoing situation.

I do not have a definitive reason or answer for you. Perhaps you can e mail him and find out why he continues his rage and juvenile behavior.

My initial reaction is to laugh at your post (which is a good sign ) but the details are too serious to allow me to do that at this time.

Just curious.

I originally found OFC last year though someone named Elias. He was selling a number of Adamas guitars at www.guitarauction.com. I sent him a question about his guitars and he is the one that told me about this wonderful site.

Is this the same dude?

Perhaps he's not a "disgruntled customer" but a business competitor?

I don't know.

He is just a collector like the rest of us, and that would have been the "nice" version, but he is just a collector who has a nice collection of early Adamas guitars. He is not a vendor, although like most of us, we have bought or sold a guitar on occasion. I really don't want to go into this in a thread, but when he started he was a valuable contributer to the board. By his 2nd month, he had been warned several times about his attitude and language, and finally after several complaints, was banned. I am not concerned about any of that.

I realize most of you have no idea what I am talking about, because his posts have been removed within hours, sometimes minutes of them occuring. Spamming, Harrassment, and DOS Attacks however are illegal. I really didn't expect so many folks to drag this thread out. The Phantom posted as a final warning to this person, it's been real, it's been fun, it's over.

The other reason for this thread was that is seemed necessary to let those know that did witness the system abuse or was a target of it that we are taking serious actions to protect our little community that we have created. In case you didn't know Elias is/was Verdict, and OvationF%$#ker, Alpoop, AlexPep, Swat275,and several other id's. He also sent many members email as alex.pepiak@yahoo.com which is attempted identity theft.

As I said, the main reason for this thread was a warning to him, and to let the community as a whole know that we are taking every effort to ensure this community remains safe.

I know someone who called the number he had listed and my friend is not convinced that the number listed actually belongs to him.

We think he's using our anymosity towards him to get at someone else.

I corresponded with Elias, via e-mail, a number of times during the past couple months, when I was considering the purchase of an older, original Adamas - he had a few that were for sell. Although I ended up purchasing a new instrument, Elias was very helpful in freely offering advice and opinions during my search for an instrument, and he twice suggested that I consider a number of instruments that Al had listed on his site.

As previously stated, there are many issues involved with this person that the majaroty of the membership are not aware of, including lude, insulting and disgusting posts, spamming the membership, attempted identity theft and crashing this sites host server (that's the short list). They have been reported to the proper authorities. Elias' knowledge of the Adamas (and other guitars) and willingness to share that knowledge has never been disputed. Only his actions on this message board and toward many of its members.
I would have hoped this thread just end. The intial post by "The Phantom" was done with my knowledge, and was done so as a warning, that the behavior eluded to will no longer be tolerated.
I appreciate everyones concern, but it is now in the hands of the proper authorities and hopefully we will no longer have to deal with abuse to our community.
