Hey gang the interview is EDITED by the magazine. So it may not be her fault.

Haven't seen it yet, but she told me that the interview lasted over 45 minutes, so there must have been some heavy editing. Al, I do hope that GP did include the words "Ovation" or "Adamas" at least once. Hard to imagine an interview with her that wouldn't.

Thanks for the heads up, son.

Your honorary adopted dad,

She mentions "Ovation Adamas" and there is a pic of her playing hers. Great publicity for the Adamas... but us poor cretins on the OFC.....

Glad to see her moving up so fast!

Did she mention the story that she lost her Adamas & got one free from Adamas & became Ovation sponsored artist through the help from Ovation, OFC, and her dad?

This is an interesting & moving story & should not have been edited out if she did mention it.

Well, popcritic finally received the June Guitar Player magazine and must say that Kaki's interview really exceeded his expectations. It's the first featured interview (p.33), has two full pages, and two large color photos. The second photo shows her onstage at SxSW with her new 1581-7, as well as her electric guitar--Gretsch Roundup with gigantic Bigsby.

Bless her heart, she had some nice things to say about dear old popcritic.

And I have to agree with Al, there's good publicity for Adamas throughout.

The magazine's web site is still showing the May edition, but I'm sure they will update it in a day or two

There's an ad for her new CD on page 119. Couldn't sign off without mentioning that....

p.c.

Got home from work on Friday and there in my mailbox was the latest issue of GuitarWorld Acoustic. In the front section called "First Stringers" they highlight new and up-coming talent. There was a half-page article/pic of Kaki in there. The opening sentence was something to the effect: ". . . she is so small and petite that the OVATION ADAMAS she plays looks more like a cello . . ."

In that same section, there was an article highlighting an Orlando-based band called VonRay entitled "Hanging Ovation". In reading it, one of the principals in the band described how when he was young he bought a white-topped Ovation just like the one Jon Bonjovi played on "Wanted Dead or Alive" (??). Evidently, the guitar later broke and he donated it to the Orlando HardRock Cafe.
