I know this subject has been gone over many times and I have searched the boards and read many of them but...

I just got my new 1867 legend, beautiful guitar, but I have a bit of a buzz mostly when playing on lower frets 1-5 or 7 and on the low e open if strummed with a little bit of force. From what I understand and have read, this could be because there is not enough releif, right? Would I loosen or tighten the truss rod to correct this?

Thanks for you help.

If relief there is your problem, you would loosen the truss rod. Go slow (about a quarter turn at a time) and give it a few minutes to "settle". Then play and check. You'll have to tune it when you're done, but I wouldn't bother tuning between adjustments as you'll probably need a couple of attempts to get it where you want it.

Thanks for your help! I'll probably take it in for a setup since it hasn't been professionally done yet but it is still nice to know how to do some of the easier adjustments.
