Paul,
Do you mean "A" bracing pattern?
I'm just trying to avoid a "who's on first" thread :)

Location: SoCal | Good point. The pattern Ovation uses is the "A" pattern. It's used on most of their guitars now. |

Location: Zion, Illinois | I have two Ovations that have "A" bracing. Both are from the late 1970's. Both tops have warped. My custom legend has a little warp to it. My Aniversary is VERY warped. Was the warping due to a flaw that was later corrected? Once warped can the top be corrected?
I do have to say that both guitars sound great!

Guitars are wooden instruments and respond to their environments, that's why they sound so good and also why they take on strange warps and twists over time. Annoying but not serious, because, as you have said, they sound great. I've often compared it to what happens to us as we age and become wise and talented, our bodies take on strange and annoying shapes, but we are able to contribute to the advancement of society. Those skinny models and their male counterparts in the beauty ads probably couldn't manage a simple C chord. If it sounds good the bracing is OK.
