| Curious as to why only $1000. New USA Elite Longnecks are $1400 and up. There is only one photo, and little information. |

Location: RI. That small State out East | I'm just "looking"... GAS I guess. He sent out some pic's nice looking guitar. I "assume" it is a 2001 model run. It doesn't have the new pre amp.
Why would it have an Ovation "label" vs. Adamas?
I assume it has a CVT top. I've asked for more info... I only have the kids piggy bank to play with soooo... I think I'm just dreaming.

I just got a note... SN # 534175... That makes it a 1998 run? That also makes it a SMT top?
Any imput?

It doesn't look like an SMT top. I think it's the original Adamas top. Preston Reed plays a guitar just like this one (blue green color) and it is one helluva great instrument.
I don't think you can necessarily trust the labels in it as this is a custom shop guitar. |

Location: Scotland | It's a CVT top, not an SMT. For a short time in the late '90's Adamas guitars had "Ovation" rather than "Adamas" on the headstock, though this is the first CVT I've seen like that. If you like the extra two frets thing there's nothing better, the slightly older preamp is irrelevant, the Optima is killer. If I didn't have a custom guitar & a vintage T-head to finance this would be mine. |
