Location: Canada		Hello all.. 1st timer here.. Great site with lots of excellent info.

I have an Ovation ser#055119 model # 1132-1. It plays really sweet and has some cracks in the sunburst clearcoat. I'm a bass player and was given this for x-mas a few years ago so I don't know a lot about guitars.

Just wondering if anyone can throw me some info on this guitar and what it may be worth,how old it is, etc... Thanks!

Location: Parkersburg, WV		Hi Eron and welcome,

What you have is a Matrix, Ovation's attempt in the '70s to make an inexpensive option to their regular line. Aluminum cast neck, frets and headstock w/ polyurethane back of neck. Eventually replaced by the Applause line which is still made today. I can't give you a current value, but a price list from '79 had them at $260. retail.
