Location: NJ		We have again lost another music character. I was surprised to find out he was 80 although I knew he had to be up thee in age.

I could not imagine giving up Elvis but in the process he paved the way for Jerry lee louis Johanny Cash Carl perkins etc

Sam will be missed!!!

Location: Scotland		Sam Phillips single-handedly created the whole rockabilly "slapback" echo thing at Sun. RCA tried to recreate the sound when they signed Elvis, but didn't have a clue how he did it. A true innovator.
