I've heard the infamous 800 number, but that seems to be a popular number when anyone asks how many of a short run were made. I have also heard less than 100. Not sure anyone really knows, at least I haven't seen it posted. I have one with the original "bowling ball" case. As far as value... good question. Like any other Ovation, it is worth exactly what someone is willing to spend.

The seller is a musician, Ken Stacey)studio/toured with a number of names...this was used on Elton John tour. Don't care about that but would rather get a guitar from a player than a pawn shop. Never knew much about the "other" line of Ovations but through posts and pictures on OFC and eBay, getting interested. Have always enjoyed the difference in the Ovation line...even though I have a wonderful KOA wood Martin and Les Paul Studio - just seems like I always reach for one of the Ovation. Must be a spell they put on them at Ovation, part of "final finishing."

I just sold this one last week for half what he's asking. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2549540753&category=2384&rd=1 Everyone has a different estimate, but my best info is less that 200 were made. Most were red and a few sunburst. It's not well known that there were actually two different neck widths. The narrow one is a 6-string width (1-11/16) strung up with 12 strings. Certainly not designed for fat fingers, although I preferred this one over the wider (more standard) one. Probably not too many of these survive today, although OFC member Wayne McF. tells me there is one nailed to the ceiling of a strip club in Dallas. Go figure. Dave

I would have loved to have had that one, and I missed it, I don't spend enough time checking Ebay. Just a sugestion, but not a promise, if you are going to list an old Ovation give us a heads up. My goal is to die before they get anything or spend it all before they know what I have. The IRS has a way of sending these letters that cause anxiety unless you learn to ignore the bastards. If any of you members work for the IRS and are spying on our posts, I hope your Barre chord finger gets permanently caught up your ass, and your treasured Silvertones have to be sold to pay for the operation to remove it (the finger) and reinstall it in your mouth, where it was before it got stuck in your ass. Love the IRS Bailey
