Once it got dark outside, there was not much for my family to do to (no videos, no computer, no lights to read books, etc). So, I got out my trusty O Legend and entertained the kids until bedtime. I was still living at home-Of Course just about everyone lost power-So Everyone Moved upstirs to Living Room-Lit up The Fireplace-got out the quilts and the blanket-And My Dad and I played Guitar and Sang Songs-From 7:00pm till around Midnight. Stopping just long enough to roast hotdogs and marshmellos over the fire. It was great family time! Just the family--a fire--hotdgs-Marshmellos and a couple of Ovation Guitars! Ahhh-Memories!! Hope all are well in NYC.

In 1977, it was the summer of "Son of Sam" and it was pretty violent and unnerving. This time, it's amazingly peaceful and cooperative. After September 11th, it will take a LOT more than this to test the tenacity and sense of community of New Yorkers. A breed apart.

At least that's what the wife always accuses me of.

There should have been great seductions as your significant other FINALLY hears that love song you have been rehearsing for 10 years, but couldn't overcome the TV. I visualize 100's of Ovationists singing and playing like Elvises that have been waiting to shine. Bailey (I'm hauling out my acoustics to see if I can score)

Not only was it Thursday and Friday but we had another one on Sunday after a hell storm (the southerners pronounce that hail). I've now learned how to start the generator and how not to start it. All the automatic systems don't work and I needed to carry the 60 Caddy's battery out of the car to jump the generator battery that is shot and needs to be replaced. So now it's a new battery and a new hook up and while we're at it upgrade this and that and, and, and. Not complaining but isn't that the way things go? All said and done it was nice to spend an acoustic evening (unplugged) listening to the mountain top talk instead of the TV. I think we'll do it again, even if we don't have to.
