Location: Burbank | Hey guys as I was telling Al in a private email earlier, last week a guy had a 1624 for sale in the local paper for $350. I posted here on the board and response was that it was a steal. I told the guy I would come down to look at it. Well I got delayed by a week, but his ad was still there. I called him and he told me he still had it, but the PRICK told me that he got too many calls and that he had it listed too cheap so he now wants $450! So with my own gut feeling and some helpful words from Al, I have decided to pass it up. I found a 1124 at a store for $499 and they will take a cash offer, it looks and sounds good. Any opinions? |

| The 1124 and the 1624 are both excellent guitars; however, unless you are certain that you will never want to amplify it, your best best is the 1624. As mentioned previously in other posts on this board, the Ovation nylon-stringed guitars with an artist or shallow bowl tend to lose some of the volume typically produced by the deep bowl guitars, and many people are not completely satisfied with the unamplified sound.
You will be satisfied with the 1124, but in all probability you will love the 1624. |
