I was playing a 1990 model Legend, and I noticed something odd about it I hope someone can help me with. When I use a capo on any position, the B string is sharp. This is a capo I have had for years, and it does not do this on any other Ovation I have tried it on. Now this is not the nicest capo out there, it is one of the Jim Dunlop models that you wrap abound the neck and clamp. I tried to see if the capo was pushing the string sideways, but it seems to be straight. Any ideas why this capo on this Legend makes the B string play sharp? Thanks

Check your intonation. I realize it's an acoustic, but just humor me. Play the "B" open, then play the note where the capo would sit. Do this with the other strings as well. If it stays in tune, the problem is with the capo. If not, then the problem is with the guitar. Insure you aren't pressing too hard on the strings either when you do this. You've been playing awhile so you probably already know what I'm about to type, but for those others reading.. the capo doesn't go in the middle between the frets... it needs to be as close to the fret as possible or you will pull all of the strings sharp.

Miles, I just did something that solved the problem. I just turned the capo around, and the note was not sharp. I guess the groves that have been worked into the hard rubber of the capo had something to do with it. I will try another capo tomorrow and see what that does.

Maybe some people use a capo because they have very short arms. Dave

what about "rodeo style"? It's like doggy style except you grab a handful of hair, call her by her sister's name & see how long you can stay on.

I thought coyote style was when you wake up with your arm under her and chew it off so you can get away without waking her up.
