Does anyone here have any advice on feasibility and/or recommendation on mfr./model? :

I'm looking for an A/B footswitch that I can plug two guitars into with the resultant signal going to my tuner/effects pedal.

I won't ever have the need to use both guitars simultaneously, but just to "toggle" between the 6 and the 12 letting either use the tuner/effects, and free-up one of the inputs on my P.A.

Any suggestions'd be greatly appreciated.

I have a DOD (I think). There are several out there. I used to leave my guitars wired then just tap the switch when I would swap out.

My favorite setup was using cheapo mixed that was built into a Univox reverb. It had two inputs with two volume sliders and two reverb sliders. I would just leave both guitars ready to go with the Volume on the guitars at ZERO. No fuss no muss.

Now I like wireless the best :)

Cliff, I've got an old Morley one of these and it worked fine. Don't know if they're still around. When you coming down for that blackened talapia sandwich?

I did a 'Net search and found a veritable plethora of these things available! Who knew???
Never had a need for one in the past, so I never really knew how common they were.

Looks like a stop at a local gear purveyor is in order on the way home some night this week. Saw a nifty lookin' Boss unit that might suit me.

Bill; they DO still make the Morley's. I saw 'em on a couple o'websites.
Jeanette and I are formulating plans for "Kristmas Kamping in the Keys". My last day of work (and last gig) will be Dec.18th. Load up the Cruiser with snorkels (& stockings) & hit the road that weekend. Planning on Blackened Tilapia sammies near you, Grilled Mahi ones at Mangrove Mama's on Ramrod Key and then Conch Chowder & Key Lime Pie on Cayo Hueso in time for Santa to sneak in through the tent flap.

. . . . .okay, NOW I'm hungry!!! :p

Cliff-

I've been using the Boss Line Selector LS-2 foot pedal for quite some time. I bought it originally for my Parker to select between the "acoustic" and electric outputs with a foot switch to keep my hands free, but soon started using it to switch between acoustic guitars at gigs. It's nice because you have flexibility with the arrangement of ins and outs at the touch of a button. You can also independently set the volume of each guitar with it, and not readjust every time you switch. May be more than you need, but it's saved me on several occassions with problems I could have never foreseen, but because of the different selection options I was in the clear.

So what's this? Last day of job, last gig??? Is that just for vaca, or are you onto greener pastures?

Johnny

John;
No.
No "greener pastures" (just yet).
Just hoping to spend Christmas/New Years in the Conch Republic (Jeanette's never been).

Thanks for the info on the Boss unit.
I think that's the one I'm considering.

Went out lunchtime to a small, local shop that I go to and got a Boss AB-2.

The guy rapes me enough regularly on strings, that he gave me a deal on it.

Mission Accomplished.

THANKS to All.
