there is a review of the new LX series in acoustic guitar mag. I still can't talk about it but I guess if you read the review you can post what you read about.

btw did you know they named the new series of guitars after me? they wanted to honor all the work at did on the OFC and all the great ideas I gave to marketing etc.

This may ruffle some feathers but I am not going to subscribe to read a product review...looks like $58/yr.

This is Ovation's responsibility to inform us even if just through their newsletter or web site. Not ready? They have no problem making the guitar and info available to reviewers. Hopefully, some of our members that will be at NAMM can report back. Not all of us have the time or access as dealer, etc.

I would think that if Ovation can release to media it could offer a little to the dedicated OFC.

I agree with you Tony. They showed the new LX series guitars being made on the GAC "Made in America" TV show. Come on Ovation, you gave GAC the green light to show them being made. Now give Al the green light so he can tell us all about them. I know I sure want one!

Yes, on the acousticguitar website I saw that their Feb. issue is reviewing mid-priced acoustic-electrics. It was stated that they are reviewing a 1777 lx. So, of course, I asked myself.... LX???? We on this board would like to know. If you're gonna send them out for review, how about giving give us a little info?

Tony, can't you find Acoustic Guitar magazine by the issue at your local Borders or Barnes and Noble or local well-stocked newsstand? Shouldn't have to subscribe to read the review.

I haven't seen it yet, so I don't know what it says. I tend to agree that Ovation should have something on their website or should have allowed the info to be disseminated to the OFC membership, but this is not abnormal corporate behavior.

Actually, I think Ovation's website is not that good anyway.....there was never a WORD, even a HINT, about the Glen Campbell limited edition. If someone here hadn't seen one for sale on eBay, I'd never have heard of it. The Folklore Deluxe was similarly ignored. If you don't use your website to build interest and inform about your products, especially limited releases and products about to be released, what good is it?????

Well, this is getting into marketing.....I'll stop my rant. :)

Elecks. or LX, nice guitars but why make them sound like some fucking Japaneeze car model? I mean it's not like the LX stands for anything...

There was information in the Ovation web page news area about the Folklore Deluxe, when they came out. They only built 50. Why should they keep information up when they aren't selling them anymore?

As to the limited Glen Campbell model, they built less than that and I suspect they were sold right away. Why try to build demand for a guitar they aren't even trying to sell?

Paul, your points are well made. I'd think they would want to acknowledge them for historical purposes nonetheless. It is frustrating to not hear about something like that until it is already too late.
