Does anyone know where I can get different or custom truss rod covers for an Ovation 1777 LX?

I'm sorta cheep. Find some material you like. Trace the old cover on it. Whittle it out, smooth the edges and...

There ya go!

FWIW, this aint too hard to do in veneer or even pickguard material.

A nice MOP cover would be stunning!

Grizz, why do you want another truss rod cover for your Legend LX? The Legend LX has an ebony truss rod cover that is beautiful. I also like the rosewood truss rod cover that comes on the Standard Balladeer LX, and the Standard Elite LX.

The reason I ask is just to be different. I have seen some beautiful ones made for other brands of guitars, but I haven't found any custom ones for an Ovation.

I don't think I am handy enough to make my own cover plate and have it look half as nice as the stock one that comes with it.

just a thought....

He used an engraver to sign it, then filled it in with ebony dust and epoxy.

Truss rod covers are the same material used for engraved "desk" signs. If you have a fairly decent-sized Sign Shop in your area that does engraving and architectural signs, they more than likely would have the stock and CNC capability.

If you trace out a shape of what you want, they should be able to scan it and theoretically rout it out of almost anything.

(As with anything), you only "limitation" is how much you wanna spend . . ;)

I like the look of the LX ebony covers . . . I just DON'T like the "logo".
