Location: North Carolina | Looks like a celeb to me. You can also tell by the shape of the fingerboard over the body. I don't know if they ever made any real collectors guitars with rosewood fingerboard/bridge.

Location: Upper Left USA | There is a short history of celebrity Collectors. I had bought one in December - the Honey coated Panelmeister - a 2003 Celeb Deluxe Collector.
Arched top and single epaulets. Very warm sound - kicks butt on most every "box" out there. If you don't mind a screwed down bridge, a semi-glued epaulet (pick holder?) and minute blems it was a nice $600 guitar with an OHSC.
Then I joined this board, saw the light, repented and bought an Elite LX. :D |

Location: Tennessee | Yup, this one is NOT the Ovation Collectors 2000, but the Celebrity Deluxe Limited Edition 2000. The description in the ad is all wrong except for the preamp piece. The USA 2000 has an Optima preamp, and all of the other features as described. And yes, it does have a rosewood fretboard.
We could start another rant on differentiation, but let's not ... as we found out at the Factory, a plan is afoot to eliminate the market confusion. |
