Not too long ago I had the CP2003H which was touted as an Archtop. It really isn't a true archtop - there is just a small bow to the top.

a.k.a. the Honey Coated Panelmeister - It played nice and handled well. There were some QA issues. I wouldn't hesitate to get it for someone starting out.
