I read about the new LX series hitting the market.

I'm getting back up to speed playing after having been "out of touch" with my Ovation since back in the '80's. My "old" guitar is still in awsome shape.

Once I get my hands back in shape, I'm gonna go take a look at the LX series.

The problem is, out here in the desert (Tucson, AZ), no one has the LX series yet.

Question, does anyone know when the shops are going to be getting the LX Series guitars in? I've called a couple of stores and they tell me between 30 and 90 days. I know some of the Internet dealers claim to have them, but before I make the investment, I'd like to get my hands on one to try it out.

Thanks!

It'd be wise to just wait it out and try one firsthand. When we were recently at the Factory, we witnessed them cranking 'em out as fast as they could, and plans were underway of increasing production even more. Still, there's a lot of "backorder" as there seems to be somewhat of a demand.

Sit tight, they should be making their way to you soon!

btw: Welcome!!!

The LXs are a wonder to behold - and as discussed at length here - not a reason to throw out your old guitars! Patience, and they will show up. There could even be a day soon where you can demo two of the same model. They have been showing up by one's and two's around my area.

I "jumped" on mine in February and I don't regret it. Check out the Gallery!

Paul,

Milano's in Mesa said they will have them by the end of the month. I've played them and that plus all the accolades they get on this board would make me not hesitate to get one sight un-seen. But it's not like it's a limited edition and will going away anytime soon. There will be tens of thousands of LX's made, so what's the hurry.

Personally I wonder how long they will be called "LX". I mean, when the k-bar styles are finally put to rest do you call every model in the line an "LX"? That's stupid. At some point you just call them all Ovations. Ovations from different era's have different neck attachments. It's always been that way and nobody had to stick some stupid suffix letters on the name. So what's the big deal.

Thanks for your responses, they are appreciated.

"cliff", thanks for the welcome!

CharlieB, no, not NEW LX's, new LX's, get the inflection right! :D

Dave, if we don't get here in the outback before I make a trip up to the big city, I may have to stop in at Milano's.

Thanks All!!

They still don't have any LX's at the Guitar Center or Sam Ash here in the Philadelphia area. I had to get mine from Musicians Friend. I was not dissapointed at all. My LX Legend blows my Taylor away. Tone, Action, Acoustic Sound.. Can not be matched.
