Last week I went skiing on the glacier of Les2Alpes in France and stayed in a hotel. The lounge had an artist playing some songs, he played an ES-335, as far as I recall. Anyway, a certain moment I heard someone had joined in on an electro-acoustic, and I just knew that sound... It appeared his son had joined him and played an ovation. It really cut through very well and sounded very nice indeed.

I did not recognize the model however, it looked like a country artist, had a slothead, steelstrings, spruce top, brown bowl, but it was a mid or deep bowl. Which model may it have been?

....sigh..... last week I drove to and from work on the 10-Freeway here in Southern California.... but, when I got home, my wife greeted me with a kiss (so did my dog and cat) and I was able to play MY Ovations (even though they are now obsolete!)!! God is Good!

... don't know which Ovation you saw... sorry.

martin, with a slot-head and steel strings it sound like a folklore...unless it was a celebrity version of the folklore...(if THAT'S not a contradiction in terms..)

I can't recall any slothead steel-strung six-strings with brown bowl-paint, could it have been a 1613 Classic (nylon)

No, it definitely had steel strings. Maybe I did not look too good and it may have been black? After all, i did a lot of skiing that day. On 3600 m there is not too much oxygen... :-)
