Just brought a celebrity mando back to life. The finish is sunburst figured maple. Were these common? Any idea when they sold?

The standard Celeb Mandos are very common, they've been around for several years & are still in production. I've never seen one with a figured maple top, they're usually laminated spruce. There are some models made for the Japanese market that have different top veneers and finishes, it could be that yours is one of these. Where abouts in the North East are you? you must be pretty close to me.
