The Adamases are done in a small corner of the factory, and I suspect they just "gear up" for them when the demand dictates. By the time we got there, the "workday" was over and crew had departed. Miles is right. It seemed that the pre-eminent goal of everyone there was to get as many LX's out the door to fulfill as many backorders as possible.

What I found really interesting about it was that it was set up in a corner, behind some shelves. Somehow I always imagined that it would have been a center of research activity.

Actually, I think that it may be located where it is because it's in a nice, quiet, sturdy, lower-level corner of the building . . . . away from the vibration of machinery, forklifts, etc.
