Just found this place :) Been an O-head for many years starting back in the early 80's with my beloved Ovation Preacher. Glad to see you all here!
I have a question about the Celebrity model. I am considering a trade deal and would like to know if you can tell me what the difference is between the CC-257 and the CS-257 Celebrity models. The other party has both guitars in black which look very similar except the CC-257 has the older style electronics (Bass-Treble-Volume) and the CS-275 has the OP-24+ system. Besides that, what are the differences and which is the better guitar?
P.S. I looked all over the Ovation web site and did a search here but could not find the CC-275 anywhere and there is not alot of info available on it via the Internet.

Welcome aboard. The cc-257 and cs-257 is the same model. I believe they just changed the model number and electronics. If you are playing Plugged in mostly , either will work fine.

I noted there are 4 CS 257's on Ebay right now. Such as this one
CS257
There are a lot of well priced O's about. I hope you get what you need!

Location: Tampa, Florida | I sent an email to ovation, and this is what they said:
"Specs for [the CC257] are the same as the current CS257 except for a different preamp."
My celebrity CC257 has an OP-24+ preamp, so I guess there are some in-between models that had the CC257 model number but the CS257 Electronics.
I put in a request that they info about the CC257 in the archives on the site. |

Location: Tampa, Florida | I love it! The acoustic tone is good, and the plugged sound is truly awesome. I've never had an elite to compaare it to, but its a great guitar. The OP-24+ preamp that came in mine is very versatile too. |

CC-257 and CS-257 Celebrity models?
