The fact you are "not an electric guy" is irrelevant, they are not electric guitars, they are "solid body acoustic guitars" The current Vipers are among the best for what they are intended, but their application is very specific & limited. They are stage guitars, their advantage is that they are pretty much feedback-free and sound like a good electro-acoustic but have zero acoustic response. I have a Nylon Viper and intend to get a couple of steel-strings, not that they necessarily sound any better than a full bodied guitar but simply that they are easier for deaf, moronic sound-enginers to deal with

I also own several "Old" Vipers, but that's a whole nother thing.
