Location: Fort Worth, Texas | I went back by the new Fort Worth GC, just a few people in the store, so I had some time and space to look at the O's. They had a Ballader LX and an Elite LX. Both were very nice to play. I have to say I liked the Elite better. I'd like to play a Legend LX to compare....
Now I was messing around and popped the preamp out of the Elite and was looking it over. Then I couldn't get the preamp back in the slot. I somehow got the preamp STUCK back in the slot. Not inserted correctly - the large side is stuck up about a 1/4" and it won't pop back off now. (Ah-hah I said now I get a new Elite LX as I SCREWED this one up). I showed one of the GC guys, who was busy selling a guitar, and we tried to get it back off and he says, "I'll fix it later", and I said, "Well, I wanted to make sure and show you."
I went back by two days later and it was still messed up the way I left it.
I figured out how to get the preamp back in on the Ballader (set the large side in and swing it into place, locking with the button). But I could't fix the one I messed up (I tried using my driver's license and pulling on the volume knob) I didn't talk to any of the GC guys to have them try and fix it. Now I'm afraid someone will get a bad impression of Ovation and/or the guitar will have to go back. I like to go back and fix it if I can, hell, maybe I'll end up with that very guitar as I have a relationship with it now!!
Any suggestions? |
