I have been working out a bunch of Chris Squire stuff. Bass has been my main weapon of choice lately. I have to tell you guys (or at least I have to tell those of you who aren't affraid to admit they don't know every G*&^$%@$am thing)That learning another instrument can play hell with the other! Took me a while to play the 6 sting well tonight The neck seems so small, the strings are so close, and the fret's are tiny now? But I think I am going to go to slightly heavier gauge strings now my fingers are getting real strong. I think I will get better sound from them as well? Going to have to work on both from time to time from now on. JFYI Randy

I know the feeling. I regularly switch back and forth between 5 string bass and 6 string guitar. I've found that after the initial re-adjustment however, my fingers seem stronger from playing bass and things like bar chords and 4 fret up pinky stretches are much easier nowadays.

Yep That's one of the reasons I am converting my 4 string Ric. to a 5. I do not need the wide spacing between the strings I am a pick player anyway on bass? I can rip up chords on the 12 string now as well? But I am over reaching on the frets when I am picking through a song on the 6? Bet I will never play the madolyn well now that I have started working on this bass. Randy
