I finally decided and ordered a 1777LX from Oklahoma Vintage Guitars. They had the black ones for $899. Best price I found anywhere, plus it was in stock, most didn't have any in stock. Wasn't sure about getting black, but the more I looked at it, the more I liked it. Now I just have to wait for the big brown truck to show up. Waiting is torture.

Bill,

I bought a 1771 Balladeer from Oklahoma Vintage Guitar about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I ordered it on a Monday afternon and received it (in Ohio) on Wednesday evening. The guitar was perfect (brand new).

Great service and, like you, I got a good price.

I think you will be pleased with your purchase and the service.

RobT,
Thanks for the report on Oklahoma Vintage Guitar. I have never heard of them before and was hesitent to give them all that money. But their ebay rating is great, and they were quick and nice both in emails and on the phone. I almost went with the 1771LX, but since I was selling my Martin to pay for this, I wanted to get the best guitar I could. As soon as I get it I will post pictures, if I can figure out how, and tell you all about. I can't wait. I am a total Ovation man now. My other guitar is a 1987 Ultra. The one thing that sold me to get another Ovation was I noticed when I played my "cheap" Ovation, I had a smile on my face and loved it, and played it way longer. When I played my Martin, I didn't. So I figured if I love a cheap Ovation that much, how much more will I love one of their best. It just took me a LOOOOONG time to admit I love Ovations more than Martins. Stupid I know. Freinds have said to me,"you are selling your Martin to get an Ovation!!!" "ARE YOU NUTTS!!!!" I have just answered, "Yes! Nuts about Ovations. When the guitar I pick up is a $200 Ovation instead of a $1300 Martin, that should tell you something.

Bill,

You're going to love it. If you haven't heard an LX yet...dare I say you'll be amazed (or thrilled).

The Legend is great. I only had the cash for a Balladeer and it's an awesome, awesome guitar.

Let us know when you get it and give us your thoughts...

Rob

I bought my LX1777 back in Feb ( Vintage LX). I own about 12, I'm afaid to count, guitars. I can not walk past my LX, without picking it up, it is my favorite, and enjoying the sound of it. You will be very pleased.

I did get to play one at Sam Ash. It is awesome. I played a bunch, but kept going back to that one. I just got the confermation it is scheduled for a Wednesday delivery. It is coming FedEx Ground. Hope it gets here ok. FedEx has screwed up some shippments lately. Wenesday is my first day off. But I leave for vacation Saturday so I will only have a couple of days with her. I won't take her camping with me.
